I spent probably 25 years plus flying offline in one sim or the other and I only dipped my toe in the online world with GB. My love affair with that title is well and truly over so I won't be going anywhere near that in the foreseeable future. I'm not really a modern jet or commercial aircraft fan and I have been in and out of DCS over the years but it never really held me to the extent to keep going back. Having said that the Phantom will undoubtedly tempt me to go back for another look, as if I have a favourite jet it has to be the Phantom or the Buccaneer. WWII flight sims have always been the mainstay for me and I know we probably have a long wait but I'm really holding out a lot of hope that CP will be the one to ignite that passion for flying regularly again. 8 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yesterday I installed CloD Blitz and did some dogfighting over the channel which was fun. Today I flew a mission of the Jagdflieger Campaign in DCS - sorry no screens of the action as I was busy and forgot to take some 😄 Just a few from making my way into the mission area and safely back after returning to base. The mission was to provide cover for our ground pounders - after they did their job a Spitfire Squadron scrambled from a base nearby. Shortly after they got reinforcments and we went back to base as we were outnumbered. 4 Spitfires were taken out. Got one myself and one target of oportunity which was a C47. Aruberikku Posted January 21 Share Posted January 21 (edited) Recently came back to flight simming. I've only been flying the Bf 109 F-4 and G-2 in IL-2 GB for now. Love the F-4, but having a harder time adapting to the G-2. I exclusively fly iron man careers, although I never get far. Furthest I got before perishing is October 1st, 1941. Not sure if there's a swastika rule on this forum, so I just blurred them out to be sure. Also love the Stuka. Haven't flown it, but I occasionally have some fun doing a career as a tail gunner. It's been working real good for me with DCS. Quite impressed with career implementation and immersion, I just wish the DM's and FM's were on the level of RoF and Flying Circus. golani79 Posted February 4 Share Posted February 4 Mission 12 of the Jadgflieger Campaign for the DCS 109-K4 We had to scramble as there was a bomber formation on their way to our base - they were already pretty close and we got the order to attack them before they could reach the airfield. We took a few out but unfortunately I was shot by an escort and my engine failed shortly after. Wanted to do a dead stick landing but an enemy P-47 decided to shoot me up a bit more. In the end I bailed out over our airfield which was bombed pretty badly. Flying / fighting for the germans in the late war must have been pretty hopeless for all who were involved. My first mission was a bombing run, and I destroyed 2x T-54's, and 1x Gaz-66. On my way out, I was damaged by a MiG-19. Managed to get my crippled Scooter into a friendly airbase. Naturally, I repaired and went back up with an A2A package. Got the original perp, then went towards his airbase and flamed 2 of his girlfriends.
