  1. Today I'm flying the A6M2-N in IL2 1946.
  2. I hope all enjoy a Happy Easter, and we all wish Jason the best success in developing Combat Pilot with its hopeful introduction in the near future. That's my upcoming Christmas wish!
  3. From the 1CGS/IL2 GB developer's podcast (which was only in Russian), there came a few interesting points according to Flying_Anchor, and as noted by Stormbirds: 80-100 AI planes in a scene; DirectX 12, PBR textures; the visuals are better than in DCS; increasing of minimum systems requirements (6 VRAM at least); new AI logic; better damage model; more radio chats; communications with ground radars (bearings, home vector, etc); they will support GB, specifically Odessa and Karelia theatres; they'd like to push Pacific theme despite Jason makes his own product. Apparently the project, which includes a new game engine, is about 30% complete. If they are planning PTO, I think more competition makes a better product for players.
  4. If he was carrying a bomb, it looks like it didn't detonate. Otherwise, he hit where he was planning to, right at the water line.
  5. I expect this game will be a little like Star Wars, starting in the middle of the story...
  6. I'm practicing early war scenarios with a French Dewoitine D.520 shooting down Stukas over the English Channel in IL2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz.
  7. USS Saratoga (CV-3) in the Panama Canal, Feb 1928.
  8. I just finished reading "Samurai" about a month ago. Great book! It made me want to "fly" in this game from Lae on missions to intercept Allied bombers. It's impressive that Sakai kept flying given the amount of damage the Lae airfield experienced.
  9. SBDs over Enterprise, Oct 1941 (composite photo - note difference in waves nearest ship).
  10. CV-6 crew removing SBC-3 Helldiver after crash landing, 1940.
  11. SBD-3 flying over CV-6 (foreground) & CV-3, near Guadalcanal, 19 Dec 1942.
  12. USS Enterprise (CV-6) headed back to Pearl Harbor for repairs after Battle of Eastern Solomons. Note damage to the hull, gun platform and buckled flight deck.
  13. Torpedo Squadron Six (VT-6) preparing to launch from USS Enterprise (CV-6) at about 0730 hours on 4 Jun 1942.
  14. USS Enterprise (CV-6) pilot's ready/briefing room.
