Good to know. I love fuedal Japanese history, so I'm planning to watch it once all episodes have released. But had kept my expectations low since it's often poorly represented outside of Japanese cinema.

Finished my Gekkō! Used a spray can for the main exterior colour, but everything else was hand painted. There's a few things I'm not happy with (my canopy masking skills, decal skills, etc...) but overall I think it could be a lot worse. Was a bit demotivated when I realised I was missing an engine cowl. Had the kit for several years, so I probably misplaced it... Tamiya wants €20 to replace it and claim it could take up to two months to arrive since it would have to be a special order. Won't bother with that. (Tempted to just rebuy the same kit anyway, so I could have another go at it once I have more experience.) If I ever try dioramas, I could also just pretend maintenance is taking place (even if it looks a bit goofy) or maybe turn it into a crashed aircraft. Next project will either be a 1:48 Kawanishi N1K1-Ja Shiden Type 11 or a 1:72 U-Boat Type VII C.

According to Wikipedia there's several versions. Depending on what you want, there's the: 1981 unreleased version (209 minutes) 1981 original theatrical cut (149 minutes) 1984 BBC miniseries (300 minutes) 1997 "Director's Cut" (208 minutes) 2004 "The Original Uncut Version" (293 minutes) – miniseries minus episode-opening flashback scenes The best/most complete edition that released somewhat recently is probably the "Complete Edition". Can't comment on it, since I don't own it, but it could be what you're looking for:

Bought mine years ago at Mediamarkt in Belgium, but no idea where you could find it today. Probably best to try Amazon or another online retailer like golani79 mentioned. Mine came in a cardboard reinforced box with some extras. Note that it mentions "The Original Extended Version" on the box, but it's also known as "The Original Uncut Version". (Runtime is 281 minutes.)
