Can't sink Japanese ships at Midway without them... reckon?

Indeed, I'm looking forward to the day that I can drop an "egg" on that nice big fat meatball on the flight deck!  😁

True, IRL. But I’m sure there are virtual pilots with a million hours flight time perfectly capable of hitting a ship with a bomb from high altitude horizontal flight. 😃

Indeed so sir.  One of the biggest realism issues in combat flight simulation is the over the top experience level of the majority of the player base compared to the (very) young men that flew for real.  And the fact that not one of us has any fear of death when playing a sim.

Not that we won't have fun, mind you.

Only thing most of us don't have experience with is a dozen or more full squadrons in the air all at once of multiple types.  Been a while since we've seen the likes of that, and never at the current levels of fidelity.  That might cause a bit of a change up in tactics approach and favor the big group in game play.

No sim provide a realistic atmosphere nor physics. No g forces , authentic turbulence.
our easy movable joysticks in a pretty dead environment provide a very unrealistic accuracy.
But I have fate in humanity. What young people did then, young people will do now if need be

100%. Experience is a factor, but the idea that combat flight sims are perfect and all inaccuracies in gameplay can just be attributed to "I'm just that good compared to the guys who did it for real" is laughable.

People seriously need to go out and touch some grass...
