I love air combat simulation from WW1 to cold war and was always hoping IL-2 BOX would bring PTO one day. With Jason's departure from the series I had almost lost my hope... But finally... The future seems bright. Still love the other big Sims and will support them but this sounds so exciting I can't wait to fly in VR through all the ship flak bursts. Trooper117 Posted May 19, 2023 Share Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) Well, we will see of course... it's only my opinion, but from my perspective I hope all of the talent and expertise goes into giving us the best PTO 'flight sim' series to date. It's going to take time to cover the whole Pacific theatre of course, I'd hate to see that concept being diluted into other areas. I currently live in California near the Planes of Fame in Chino. They actually fly an AM6 Zero with the original Sakae engine. It's the only one in the world. They also fly the Dauntless, TBM, and Corsair--no Wildcat or Hellcat, but lots of Mustangs, Lightnings and Thunderbolts. If you need references for audio and flight characteristics this would be the place to start! I spent some time in Carlsbad area some years back and saw a Wildcat on approach on several occasions.
