At the time it was not history and there really was not anything unique about the equipment since so much of it had been built during the war years. It was not until much later when most of it had been destroyed did the equipment become unique and valuable. For the most part everyone just wanted to forget about the war and move on with their lives. Â Now I agree it is definitely a shame that change in attitude did not come much, much, sooner.
