  1. Good moovie. "Empire of the Sun" was and autobiographic narrative of writer James Ballard's childhood. I read other books from him. Very good writing and definitely non-conventional, highly recommended!
  2. Looking good! When the shakedown cruise in the game engine? 😇
  3. 1. Solomons (including carriers) 2. India/Burma (Pandaveswar to Moulmein) 3. Central China 4. Luzon/Mindoro (and more carriers) 5. Hump
  4. Visiting the Yorkshire Aviation Museum (a couple of days ago) one could hear the very same song playng on the tannoy. So cool!
  5. For sure drop tanks where in use by Wildcats in Guadalcanal, so it would be reasonable to have the option from the start
  6. Hi Jason, given that US and other allied air forces shared many airfields, I suggest to merge this thread with the other one (and cover-up the hurried copy paste) 😁
  7. I think it's a Fw 190 A-1. The outer wing weapon seems a MG FF 20mm cannon, while the inner weapon looks likes a smaller caliber MG17. Hence the model/variant...
  8. I have a soft spot for the Beaufighter, quite an interesting operational history. I read some memories of aircrews which flew Beaufighters at some point of their careers. I recommend the following books in particular: "Beaufighters over sea, sand, and steaming jungles" by Jack Colman; "Whispering Death" by Lee Heide;
  9. I understand time constraints in playing long missions, say above 1.5 hours. On the other hand, shrinking the map hinders a more realistic approach for those who can/want to do it. Moreover, a large map does not necessarily means players are forced to fly from one corner to the other. Shorter missions could be designed, and players could perceive the movement of the front as the campaign progresses. This could apply to both the Solomons Islands and New Guinea.
  10. Hello CP Team, I wonder what are the planned size limits for maps. Being a PTO-focused sim my guess/hope is for a minimum of 1000 km (not considering reduced scale maps). This would allow, for instance, to include all the Solomons inslands and parts of ocean where some relevant air action took place like the Battles of the Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz, Rennel Island. Any comments? cheers
  11. Hello, I might have something useful but mostly mid-to-late war period. Please, let me know which regions/islands other than Midway are of interest.
  12. Hello everyone, checking in from Italy. I am 43 and been interested in WW2 aviation since childhood. Janes's WW2 fighters was my first simulator. Then jumped to CFS2, loved the Pacific theme. I started flying IL-2 FB online in 2005, and still using 1946 at times. Some of you may remember me as _1SMV_Gitano from "evil" Daidalos Team. ðŸĪŠ I am intrigued by this new project. I wish Jason and team good luck!!!
