  1. I hope there is a shift away from the formula that we have seen for the last 10-15 years in combat flight sims. I’m tired of the drip feed of maps and aeroplanes with real gameplay features left on the never-never list of things that the developers think would be “nice to have”. I’ve been through all that and don’t want to spend a cent on a title like that ever again.
  2. At this point, the name ‘Speedtree’ is beginning to sound a little ironic.
  3. Wow, I did not know that. The set design and outdoor shots are first rate. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a production with such great acting. I saw a brief interview with the actor that plays Buntaro recently. On screen he is such a powerful figure that absolutely radiates menace. In real life he is just a skinny reedy-voiced guy. It’s wild!
  4. I wasn’t expecting that either. The whole thing is so incredibly well done though. I’ll probably end up watching it again from the beginning once it concludes next week.
  5. That’s not really exaggerating it either. I grew up in South Australia and even there during the summer, there were easily a dozen or more ways to die in your own backyard.
  6. Some things are impossible to miss
  7. I’m enjoying SH4 at the moment, using the We Dive at Dawn mod that provides the Royal Navy sub campaign in the Mediterranean.
  8. I wonder if there were British customers who were getting excited to preorder the latest Volkswagen in August 1939.
  9. Only one more episode to go, thank goodness! I honestly don't mind as the last two cliches on my bingo card were ticked off in the previous episode, when one best friend grabs another best friend by the lapels and when somebody shouted: My God, they got Jimmy! 😁
  10. It's such a strange show. Some of the writing and acting choices are bizarre. The crazy moustache guy who seems to be basing his performance on Mel Gibson from the Lethal Weapon series is especially annoying. I hope he gets run over by a kettenkrad.
  11. Makes you think what wonderful things we could achieve instead, if we all just sorted our shit out and learned to get along.
  12. I’m really loving it too. Especially after watching Masters of the Air, which by comparison feels like it was written and produced by the lowest bidder.
  13. Started watching the new Shogun series on D+. Very big budget and has a great feeling of authenticity. I'm finding myself counting the days until the next episode drops.
  14. Episode 5 didn’t have any lingering camera shots of the pouting elvis guy and I was genuinely grateful to see him go. It’s a pity to see him back.
