  1. So, apparently, the guys in the movie are all real former aviators: And the "making of"
  2. Just stumbled across the cool little short film by Katheryn Bigelow (director of "Zero Dark Thirty") that both honors vets and give a nod to flight sims
  3. Polychop Q&A on the Kiowa Warrior today:
  4. Yeah, it definitely is, it's crazy they shot this in Canada too, definitely did a great job with production making a convincing Japan.
  5. This is my second favorite show of the year so far right behind "Shogun". I never played any of the games but it was very easy to follow what was going on IMO:
  6. This week episode was very good as usual but also ☚ī¸
  7. Is it weird I'm most hyped for drop tanks 😂 In all seriousness, this is looking great thus far! Can't wait for further developments!
  8. Definitely agree. My rating is a bit higher at 6.5 out of 10. My biggest gripes are the writing which just isn't very good, no way Orloff should've been given the reigns to this show. Also, the CGI was so hit and miss.... which I kind of understand now after this interview with the Vfx supervisor last week: He readily admits the CGI quality wasn't where he would've liked to have been and I definitely agree Episode 9 had the best visual affects of the whole miniseries. If....and that is a big IF there is another WWII mini-series from the Hanks/Spielberg duo, I hope they go back to what made "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" so successful, "Masters of the Air" is the perfect example of what's wrong with modern day Hollywood unfortunately...
  9. Just finished Episode 9. It's a massive improvement over the last few episodes! This director should've directed the whole show! Plus, where were this good visual effects the other 8 episodes??? Also, an 8th AF fighter group finally gets some much overdue of screen time, though brief. Overall, it was a solid ending to a mini-series that could've and should've been much better IMHO. Hopefully with time, It'll eventually grow on me.
  10. One of the worst and disrespectful depictions I've seen of the Tuskegee Airmen on screen (yes, even "Red Tails" is better in my book) They literally killed off a man who not only survived the war but was never shot down (he did have to make an emergency landing after engine trouble in Oct 44 and was picked up by partisans and returned to his unit a month later) on top of being featured in several WWII documentaries until his passing in 2016, Shelby Westbook. And the P-51 the main actor is flying was never shot down during the war and was flown by one of the 3 top scoring pilots in the 332nd, Ed Toppins who also survived the war. Oh and that god awful CGI 😑 they completely crapped the bed....
  11. Episode 8 has got to be some of the worst writing and CGI I've seen in a show or movie in a very long time. Plus the "on the next episode" preview it tries to build tension with Rosie but it's all basically spoiled by the show's intro that is shown every week...
  12. I'll have to check out the original eventually, I'm absolutely loving this new iteration!
  13. Couldn't agree more!
  14. It's only 3 episodes in... but this may easily be the best show of 2024! The production value, acting and story so far is just so compelling! Highly recommend!
  15. Yeah, him and the guy playing Egan are probably the least likeable people on the entire show.
