Chief_Mouser
It is indeed a Gloster, and if no-one else comes up with the exact designation (it didn't have a name), you win the biscuit. Here are some more pics. Definitely an odd-looking bird. 2 Quote The Bell Inn, Bath. Boo
I'll shove this up to keep the thread going- if someone guesses Mouser's bird's name I'll take it down. A not at all posed picture of a typical airfield scene.
Chief_Mouser
Another ugly bugger. RAF fin flash with US stars too. Most odd. 1 Quote The Bell Inn, Bath. The Seamew, a plane sooo bad its predecessor was brought out of retirement to replace it. Another Seamew was conjured up by Shorts in the 1950s for a not dissimilar role and so the name was rescued from ignominy........... ......not. It was also awful . Chief_Mouser
And we feel justified in taking the piss out of the French interwar designs... 🤔 2 Quote The Bell Inn, Bath. Trooper117 Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM I'm pretty sure that was an X-plane aircraft years ago... don't know what it is though...
Props
At first glance I thought it might be a Beech D17 Staggerwing due to the 2 blade prop and the diagonal braces in the windshield, but the instrument panel don't look right and neither do the Yokes. Maybe a Spartan? definitely from the period of swanky business radials.

Props
I couldn't find a good interior shot to confirm my guess. Funny things is I walked the classics line at Oshkosh this year because I love some of these aircraft of that era and even took some great photos, but couldn't always get a good look inside as most are marked Do Not Touch....
