Skelthos
Using Airlink on the quest does not use the WiFi on your motherboard, the quest connects to your wireless router and then routes through your network to your PC. This setup works well if you are using the Quest in the same room as your router, otherwise, the USB works fine assuming you have the spare USB-C port on your motherboard. If you do go with the wireless router, I highly recommend getting Virtual Desktop, it does the wireless streaming so much better than the built-in Quest app. 1
AngelicCypher
Love my G2! I do sometimes have issues with Window Mixed Reality. The program is kind of a POS. When I launch things through Steam VR it works better though.

Now looking at upgrading to a Crystal Lite soon. I then have to sort out the best driver system for that.

I'm using my G2 with i think its 3rd cable, the first two were V1 cables, made out of tinsel or something. V2 cable still working....i'm running out the clock with regards to Windows Mixed Reality, i'm using OpenComposite most of the time, to bypass SteamVR. Along with the OpenXR toolkit. I have an RTX 3070, 32GB of RAM, a 10th generation I9. In a fantasy VR headset scenario, the Crystal Lite would be my ideal purchase, closely followed by the Bigscreen Beyond. Although i do hear it has glare issues.

That is my spoil for the year. I have been researching running the Crystal Lite with OpenXR as well. Apparently Pimax now are dabbling in their own OpenXR system to run directly with the headsets. I run a Ryzen 5950X with MSI RTX-4080 and 64GB of RAM. It should run okay and OpenXR seems to be a lot less demanding than SteamVR, with better FpS and settings limits. Everything I have read so far is fairly positive. Just some "in the know" tweaks required. Cheers.
