Trooper117 Posted 3 hours ago Share Posted 3 hours ago Many years ago when I was in a C-152 with my instructor, we were getting ready to take off when the tower called me and instructed me to hold short, as a plane was incoming and had got it's undercarriage down, but no confirmation that it was locked... shortly after, the plane arrived, touched down and almost immediately the starboard gear collapsed and it spun off the runway and onto the grass with a great spray of turf and earth spraying all over the place... two people got out scratching their heads and looking at the small plane in dismay... John, the chief instructor, calmly said '' they look alright'', got on the radio, then said to me, ''ok, let's go'' and we took off for the lesson... I looked at John, and it must have been a strange look, because he looked back and said ''what?, oh that... seen it all before, let's head over to Bruntingthorpe and see if the Vulcan is out!'' 1 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
