Major Lee Posted April 19 Share Posted April 19 Firm landings really need to be modeled in a believable manner. If I recall correctly, there was a certain patch with EAW that resulted in an explosion of your aircraft no matter how gently you belly landed it. That was later corrected, so you had a reasonable chance of surviving a well executed landing without wheels. This video illustrates some seriously FIRM landings on WWII carriers.
