Major Lee Posted April 9 Share Posted April 9 (edited) This is a 'missing man' formation, flown at the Kalamazoo, Michigan, airport back in the 1990s. The aircraft were two USN F-18 Hornets, the F7F Tigercat and F4U Corsair, which were flown and maintained by the Kalamazoo Airzoo. Note the nose high attitude of the trailing F18 as it works to maintain formation with the prop planes. The Tigercat was flown by John Ellis and the Corsair was flown by (the late) LTCDR (ret) Dale Snodgrass of F14 fame.
