Mysticpuma
Just finished watching it. Done with great respect for the veterans who fought on the D-Day beaches, it doesn't aim to make the main character a hero, it actually shows how he didn't want the fame for the act he carried out. Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson are a perfect pairing and the story of their simple love story, bound around the last mission he undertook, that of paying his respects to the Veterans who fell on the beaches of Sword (his beach) and the rest, is beautifully filmed. A superbly put together film, not action packed, just a life story of one man who served in the Navy and how that one day affected the rest of his life. Fully recommended.
