Looking forward to the next DD. But, like Hartsblade said, enjoy Easter and spend some time with your family. DD can wait.

That being said, now I'm also kinda curious who this special visitor is. I'm just assuming it has something to do with CP. 😄 Maybe an old WWII ace?

    An investor perhaps.

The real pity is all the Japanese aircraft that came to the US for testing after the war, and ended up in land fills and scrap heaps.

Not all ;)…. Right across (and I mean right across) from these (the above German planes).

Sadly, these too are mostly the sole surviving samples of their respective models. Setting these planes right under Enola Gay must’ve been purely coincidental.

Hindsight's 20/20, pretty sure at the time most of the guys mood was fed up and sick of war, so they were quite OK with burning it all.  Would have been nice had they made a stronger policy allowing pilots an option to buy their own plane dirt cheap upon demobilization and separation, could have been a few more preserved.  Outright stupid not preserving the enemies aircraft and weapons for exhibit, the Russians did a superior job at that.

Unfortunately, to the winner(s) the spoils go.

As luckily as I feel that I can go see these whenever I want, I also feel sad that they’re not at a museum at their native land.

That's the best clickable cockpit way.  Gimme levers and switches, all of them.  LoL

I don’t have a clickable cockpit game, but it feels somewhat counter intuitive to me to let go of the stick and grapple with the mouse to click on a region in the cockpit. (Unless you’re lefty, or, you can use a mouse setup to be lefty).

if I remember correctly our dburne (RIP) had a finger attached clickers that can be used for clickable cockpits, but don’t remember the name of the product.

  5. Thanks @Feldgrün. I know about the beta testing from day 1 and did not choose to participate since my game/sim time is already limited as is to justify a true beta program participation.

About the game, if I’m honest, I’ve never shook a stick in this game even though I treated VR as a kickstarter campaign and purchased Tobruk to support the team, so I don’t even know if there are many other issues with the game play or not.

At this point though, I’m ready to start it as a failed kickstarter campaign. It feels the team’s “we can’t get a response from PiMax, that’s why VR is delayed” reasoning seems a bit disingenuous after almost two years.

  6. I knew it 🤣.

Pretty much what @StoneChain said. Consider this, if the developer’s work is not up to scratch, or they mess something up with a game update, what kind of a motivation are they going to have in fixing what they broke with subscription model vs one time fee

    - subscription where they can stand to lose a lot, compared to

    - when they’ve already gotten your money and don’t care about appealing to you until they gave something more to sell you?

Like I said, I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

    Hi, Wishing all are well.

Today My son and I played the above Blue guitar after setting it up, sounds great, nice to play. I'll post some pictures really soon.

Below is the wiring circuit chosen, (which was fiddly). I found the ends of new guitar strings, (that are cut off), make great earths and help out with tricky fine connections.

    JS1200pp_mod1.thumb.jpg.dae2e22089ff82d9efb742414e61825c.jpg

Handy tools for nut fitting fine chamfering of edges etc was paddle pop sticks and wooden paint stirring sticks that have adhesive sand paper stuck to them.

Was thinking about using an old looking car number plate for a pick guard on a Tele.

The Rustins brand make great conductive paint for the electronic cavities on guitars, it drys fairly quickly in a warm environment and a little goes a long way.

I might try organic coconut oil for a rosewood fret board and see how it holds up, not sure if it will become rancid or not.

I've used a home brew of steel wool, vinegar, tea, green tea that was left to sit sealed for months. Applied, (well shaken), to raw Maple neck which made it appear aged, weathered.

    * Feel free to suggest any suggestions regarding any tools or recycled items that help out as well, would be great hearing about them.

    S!

Coil split and high pass filter, nice!

I know there are other train of thoughts on this, such as using welding torch nozzle cleaners and/or a set of feeler gauges (filed to serrated edges on one side) to cut nuts, but I feel a good set of nut files makes the job into a <5 min job if you have the nut cut at the right height. I usually buy bleached buffalo bone nut blanks from bitterroot on eBay and shape and cut them after frets are leveled and crowned.

I haven’t tried Rustins, but I also use shielding paint from StewMac, which I believe is similar.

I use bore oil for woodwind instruments and lemon oil interchangeably on rosewood and ebony fingerboards a little container goes a long long way, and does not cause any odors. I put several drops and wipe ahead of winter to moisturize the board(s).

if you’d like to peruse, this is a great build of a distressed guitar. Dave Gilmour’s Workmate.

I’ve used vinegar, steel wool, tea combination on a Douglas fir coffee table I’ve made, but it was a bit darker than I would have liked, so I’d recommend applying a very light single coat and waiting at least a day before going ahead with more coats as it darkens as it dries.

i would love to see the fully finished photo of the blue pearl, would you happen to have some?

    Guys,

I don’t know why there is such anxiety about VR. VR is planned, but without mastering the fundamentals there will be nothing. That is our current focus. We have recently hired a programmer who has much experience with VR.

    Jason

Probably because to some of us it feels like a flight sim comes alive in VR.

I, of course, want the fundamentals to be correct, but I feel if VR implementation is not handled in parallel with the rest, it will be an afterthought and will suffer because of it.
