  1. This is what happens when I forget to follow a thread, lol ... six months later. But I see the original issue is all fixed. And yes, there are a bazillion options to sort through to get the feel of your site the way you want it, and still feel good that the script-kiddies aren't handed the keys to the castle.
  2. YouTube short video of the Zero arriving at Fagen Fighters Museum, Granite Falls, Mn., in April of '22: https://youtu.be/vXhLzdsYU6U
  3. Not sure if this video link will work (it's a Facebook posted video, so will require you to be logged into FB to see it), but it's from the Fagen Fighters people regarding the work progressing on their restoration of an SB2C HellDiver: https://fb.watch/lPQfJcSJaX/
  4. Have a few photos of a Hurri and a Spit taken last year. No idea when I'll get to see those specific birds again, but here's a sampling:
  5. I'm a couple hours' drive away from Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls, Mn. Give me a reason to go back and grab more detailed photos... please! (LOL) Here's a few photos I took from a visit in '21 and a visit last summer:
  6. Reminds me... For those of us in the corn fields, there's a great resource for photos/video/audio of many *currently being flown* war birds at Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls, Mn. Their latest acquisition is an A6M(5?) Zero, possibly from the Planes of Fame collection? I'm not sure. The day last summer I went there for their Pacific Fighters show the Zero had just arrived and was not flying due to (reasons.) (I guess I'm looking for a reason to go back and grab more photos... ) Ummm.. here's a few photos I took of it ...
  7. Hm. You're right. That is a conscious decision made by the admins to limit that option.
  8. Given that this is on Invision Communities software (the Wing Walkers site is too) the option of allowing BB Code style tags ([img] [quote], etc) isn't really an option... security issues. You can hot-link and/or embed an existing image that is already available on the web (use the"Other Media" drop-down at the bottom right of the posting box, when the image URL is allowed of course), or attach an image directly (until attachment pruning takes effect and all your old attachments disappear). But don't expect BB Code tags to be enabled.
  9. You do you... We trust your vision for where this can go. We're here to enjoy the ride!
  10. Sometimes you just can't seem to get away from the interceptors. Maybe I'll have better luck in a Betty?
  11. I've flown in every Missing Man Formation the Wing Walkers have put on. As a real life military vet, these memorial events hold a very strong emotional bond for me. And I believe that there can, and should, be a place to commemorate those squadron-mates whose laughter and wit and smiles made your group and mine a very special place to be. With everything else going on in the world, in our real lives, the loss of these folks -folks whom we might only know as voices and nicknames- affect us. Deeply. The Wing Walkers virtual Squadron have had the following members called to be part of the Heavenly Flight over the years ... Art "WWKat" Stacy Rebecca "WWLilly" Waterson H. Ian "WWWringer" Smuck Tom "WWHappy" Madron Tim "WWIcy" Owens Jerry "WWNatops" Spruiel As a special comment on how these lives have affected us, often without ever meeting them face to face, our own WWTharn created a song that we might all relate to. "Friendly Voices" ... Please give it a listen. And know that some of the voices you hear speaking in captured snippets throughout that song, are among those named above. Finally... For those groups/squadrons of virtual pilots that have had to endure the loss of their friends, please... add your replies. Let's not forget those who would have liked to enjoy this new sim as much as you and I hope to. * @admins: Feel free to add this to the existing "In Loving Memory" thread, but as it was locked I was unable to add this post to it.
  12. ~~Salute!~~ Monte "WWSandMan" Lewis signing in. I'm a long-time flight sim nut, started flying virtually way back in 1989. (Props to the Science Museum of Virginia for a Flight Simulator display that blew my mind and changed my life.) A few years later, I delved into multi-player combat flying online with Sierra Dynamix's "Red Baron" on The Sierra Network, and joined a fantastic group of online pilots calling themselves the Wing Walkers in 1992. Now, 30+ years later, I'm proud to still be a WW member and forever a flight-sim nerd. One day I might even learn how to do an Immelman correctly. 🙂 Over the years as a WW member I've held every post a club member can hold... and am still the Admin Officer in charge of keeping our web presence going. Feel free to see our home at 'wingwalkers dot org' (not-so-subtle plug.) And know that our multi-player servers will be anxiously awaiting the Pacific Theater and the Combat Pilot simulation!
