Just a heads up on a very good documentary of Rob Kraft and his team on the research vessel Petrel in search of WW2 iconic ships that were sunk in WW2. Documentary is from Fox Nation (streaming service). Found were USS Indianapolis episode 01, USS Ward episode 02, Lady Lex, Queen of the Coral Sea episode 03, USS Hornet Episode 04, USS Juneau Episode 05, Iron Bottom Sound Episode 06, Hunting for Masashi Episode 07, and USS Johnston Episode 08.
Of special interest for naval aviators is Episode 03, they found not only the Lexington CV-2, but also on the sea bed were dozens of aircraft from it's flight deck. Among the aircraft found two miles down were TBD-1 Devastators including T-4 the Devastator that took out the Soho flown by Walt Nelson gunner and Ted (Weavy?) pilot. This was the first airplane to sink an aircraft carrier. Also a Grumman F4-F Wildcat that Butch O'Hare flew a few months prior to the sinking of the Lexington. Has his victories painted under canopy.
Sorry about spelling and also don't know last name of pilot.
