  1. Appreciate that! Yes, indeed, the great color debate of our times. 🙂 It’s a mix of gray/hemp, heavily washed in brown. I figured that made sense for Rabaul and the unit’s optempo. My photos are very much on the dark side, sorry, but yes, definitely more beige leaning vs. bright IJN gray. In any case, thanks! And my engine is likely over weathered, but again, the conditions. All those zeros taxing around, often on grass, dirt and/or gravel fields, often repaired with dirt thanks to those regular, pesky B-25 raids. Ground crews would surely be in hot water though for their dereliction of duty on this AC. 😋
  2. Appreciate the kind words and good luck to you and yours with the P-40 and Zero! Agree…the bench is now my sanctuary.
  3. Most excellent build - not sure what you mean? Is that 1/32? Love it!
  4. Hey, appreciated. First model in ~40 years (since I was about age 10). Combat Pilot inspired me to pick the Zero as my first subject. B5N2 Type 97 Kate up next - from Battle of Coral Sea. 😀
  5. Just sharing my weathered Eduard 1/48 A6M2 Type 21. This is Sakai Saburo’s V-128 (Tainan Kokutai, Sasai Chutai), August ‘42, Rabaul. Shot down 27 August ‘42 by RAAF P-40s, with Yamashita Sadao at the controls that day (KIA). Aside from small decals, it’s entirely painted, including all markings, with pre-shading, hairspray chipping and oil weathering.
