  1. I wonder how many types are in this photograph taken at the end of 1945. I can see zeros, twin engines recons, transports. All scrapped I daresay, they would be worth a fortune now ! S! Bunster
  2. That is such a good screenshot of the zero and the carrier, the level of detail is several steps up from anything we have in current Flight Sims. Makes me wonder how difficult it must have been to actually sink a carrier, all the flak from every angle, big ships and tough ! I wonder how the damage model of the carriers are going to work in the simulator ? just a cumulative number of bomb and or torpedo hits ? or specific damage to specific areas. For example, if the ammo magazine was hit on a destroyer it would sink fairly quickly I would assume. Can we destroy specific flak guns on the carrier ? could the aircraft elevators be damaged / destroyed ? can the steering mechanism be damaged ? could the control tower be taken out ? I hope the sim tries to represent how difficult it must have been to sink a carrier, I hope it isn't just a cumulative number of bomb hits 🙂 Knowing Jason and the team, I expect they have something special in mind. 3. Just awesome ! Really getting quite excited now - poll answers submitted. Thanks Jason and the team, keep up the outstanding work. S! Bunster
  4. Wow - will some or all of those internal components be damageable ? I can imagine the complexity of tracking individual wing spar damage 🙂 Cool if some of internals can be damaged though. Looking great Jason S! Bunster
  5. There is a intact and restored Mitsubishi KI46 Dinah twin engine reconnaissance aircraft in the RAF Cosford museum which is quite close to where I live. Im sure that you already have pictures etc.. but happy to go over and take more if you need specific areas photographed. Not sure they will let me have access to the cockpit but you never know. Im not even sure if this aircraft will feature as part of your planned aircraft for the game. TP_Bunster
  6. Hi, Im sure you have this information already but if not, link here to pictures and information regarding Japanese AAA guns:- https://www.nps.gov/media/photo/gallery.htm?pg=6634082&id=A712FB98-BA8D-22DD-1F54A9CECDCEA88A TP_Bunster
  7. Dont forget Battlehawks 1942 ! My 1st WW2 combat flight sim S! Bunster
  8. This topic was really more to do with how the game engine handles spawning and de-spawning on a carrier deck. IL2 1946 had a specific way of doing it (especially in multiuser) im interested to hear other ideas on how other options might work
  9. Yes the Chocks In idea worked well but was un-realistic. Im sure Jason and the team have a better idea on how this would work. What do other people think ? any other ideas ?
  10. Im interested in everyones thoughts about this subject. How do you realistically model spawning and landing on a carrier ? The IL2 1946 solution worked but was a bit of an immersion killer. I wonder what Jason has up his magician sleeves for this ? Are carrier aircraft lifts workable ? Do you spawn in an available lift (2 a/c per lift) and then get elevated to the carrier deck, lift goes down and then another 2 people can spawn and repeat. Seems quite longwinded or can anyone think of a better solution ? S! Bunster (Tangmere Pilots) http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/NewForum/
  11. Hi Jason and the team, Can I just say that we at Tangmere Pilots are watching this Combat Flight Simulator with keen interest. The product sounds excellent with some great ideas, we cant wait to have a go in your early aircraft and maps. Im sure that we will be early adopters of CombatPilot. Cant wait to be back in the PTO! Tangmere Pilots currently fly IL2 Great Battles and have been in existence for 20 years! We have 25 + regular pilots that fly each week (a lot in VR) and we have flown most aircraft in many different campaigns designed by our own team over the years. We are proud to have the original model designer of the IL2 1946 mosquito in our Squadron and many mission / campaign designers. If we can help in any with beta testing, research, mission editor ideas etc.. just let us know. S! and well done ! TP_Bunster http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/NewForum/
