Dear Pilots,

It's with a heavy heart that I must announce that yesterday, our dear friend and Lead Modeler Tamás Mart, passed away after a very serious, but short illness. Tom's passing is a complete shock to the Combat Pilot team and to his other colleagues at Team Fusion and to the flight-sim community at large, especially the Hungarian combat flight-sim community. He leaves behind a wife and young son. This has hit us like a ton of bricks. He had learned very recently that his illness appeared to be treatable and he would continue on with his work. We were extremely relieved with this diagnosis and Tamás was in good spirts, but then in an almost an instant he was gone. Tamás is survived by his lovely and wife (who is also an artist) and young son. We have offered them any help they require in this difficult time. Along with his family, we are in state of mourning.

Tamás was a tremendously talented artist and an even better friend, mentor and colleague. He was also a titan and unsung hero in this genre and he worked for both Combat Pilot as our Lead Modeler and at Team Fusion as the 3D model supervisor. Tamás created several models for Combat Pilot and was responsible importing models into Unreal as well as assuring the quality of all our models. He even helped us work with third-party content makers ensuring their models work seamlessly with our project. Our guns for Midway for example are his work. Just beautiful.

His work at TFS was along the same lines and was an early member of Team Fusion well before he joined us at Entropy Aero. He worked on CLOD's Bf-109 cockpits, built the Bf-110 C6 and new Fw-190. He also worked on many of the textures for the Spitfire cockpits as well as completed the Hurricane Mk. II and Bf-108 cockpits. He built many of the smaller guns and weapons in Cliffs and built the HMS Cossack and HMS Zulu from scratch. He even updated the HMS Warspite to her WWII config. He also supervised the importation of every model for TFS and trained new modelers who joined that team. He was just a real professional who was full of help and tremendous patience. He was also one hell of a researcher.

His passing will have an effect on our progress, but his work on Combat Pilot will not be in vain as we will continue our mission with an even stronger resolve.

I've posted some examples of Tom's' work below. We really enjoyed working with Tamás that last two years. He was a very early hire at Combat Pilot and we would not be here without his talent. We will miss you Tamás and may God grant you never-ending peace and love in the afterlife.

You will be missed my friend.
