solarflare623
I think Combat Pilot should take inspiration from war thunder when designing the mouse aim mainly to make the game more accessible to first timers (and by first timers I mean people who've never touched a proper airplane once in their life). Right now, in IL2 and rise of flight the mouse aim is basically useless. You can't move your head independently of the joystick and it can be hard to tell what exactly my mouse is doing (In rise of flight it's a bit easier since you have a crosshair as reference but in IL2 it's hard to figure out where my mouse needs to be to roll.) war thunder's mouse aim solved these problems with having the ability to press a button and move your head with your mouse and control the plane with your keyboard for the former (which also allows you to actually check your six without throwing yourself into a barrel roll), and the unassisted mouse aim had a ring that showed where roll and pitch were at all times for the latter. I really feel like combat pilot shouldn't be another one of those flight sims that requires a huge upfront investment in a hotas and head tracker/VR which drives many newcomers away that the market is dominated by. That's where I feel war thunder shines. It's very accessible and doesn't require an enormous amount of money to become fully invested in. Sadly, they are the only one of their kind and they seem to know it which is why the game's grind and balancing are so bad. Honestly this is a bit off topic, but I would've stayed with war thunder had the mind numbing repetitiveness and balancing issues not gotten to me and practically forced me to buy a hotas so I could play IL2 to escape it. I really don't want combat pilot to be seen as that last resort by people like me. And something as simple as putting more thought into mouse aim could make the difference.
