Unusual Weaponry - Interception Rockets and Bombs

I have a thing for unusual weapons. For example, the japanese are known to have used timefused airburst rockets and bombs for air to air combat. Airburst weapons in IL-2 are very restrictive with only 3 distance presets, and in war thunder they are incorrectly distance fused (based on location of launch) and not time fused, resulting in a large variance in time between launch and explosion.

I don't know how short of a delay rockets can be fused IRL, but I do know that time airburst rockets and bombs were used by at least the army with rockets being used in a similar fashion to how the germans intercepted bombers with their 21cm tube launched rockets, however the interception rockets sometimes relied partly on pyrophorics on top of the high explosive fragmentation effect. There are even some video footage of B-17s getting intercepted by such somewhere on youtube but if I recall correctly I don't think the pyrophoric rockets did anything significant to them due to how thick the aircraft skin is.

Are these regular munitions that were used a lot, or were they only used on occasion, or tested in combat conditions and then discontinued?...
