rjteeter Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Hi, I'm RJ and I did not read the rules. I'm what they would call a slow learner. I've been playing flight games such as il2 and Crimson Skies off and on for ~20 years and I've delved into DCS as of lately. I can't focus on them long enough to get good. I struggle with the lack of input that would be found in real life. I still enjoy dumbing around and crash bombing (crashing sucks but respawn is great). I get hooked to games that have solid single player and reasonable editor/mod support and also offer the option for MP. I've found fancy peripherals and understanding strategy can make a difference, but I still suck. Also, I enjoy beer. 8 Quote
wheelsup_cavu Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) And a belated welcome to the forums @rjteeter. Seems Crimson Skies is playable on modern hardware. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/games-we-are-playing/3370/2640?u=wheelsup_cavu Wheels Edited February 16 by wheelsup_cavu 4 1 Quote Download Missions, Skins, & Essential files for IL-2 1946 and several other game series from Mission4Today.

Damn last tree point I got looking for the cruise control and how it worked, to avoid a ticket, while hauling my counter weights to my crane on a semi truck I never driven before It cost me about 600$ and 3 points Edited June 26 by Lusekofte Quote

LD Bulldog Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Zero points on my licence but it has been said I drive as if an old man. They're probably right... 3 Quote
ZachariasX Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Thank God we don't have points. They prefer taking our money than giving us points. 2 Quote

Now we have always on digital speed cameras (LIncolnshire likes to put them on hills) and increasingly isolated and jelly like vehicles its quite easy to loose your licence in the UK without ever exceeding 35 mph. 1 Quote
ZachariasX Posted July 3 Posted July 3 1 hour ago, Boo said: without ever exceeding 35 mph Well, in your part of the world, 30 mph is the lowest speed they seem to signal. That's almost like 50 km/h. Here, 30 km/h is spreading like the plague, with instances of 20 km/h (where everyone but cars have the right of way). That is why I try to make the boys break 100 mph in the 30 km/h zone with their Tamiya. There are ways for proper locomotion. 1 Quote
