Live music venue and real ale pub (thebellinnbath.co.uk) I am no longer in the homepage picture. I would have been but the bus home came along before they took it 😟. Holmes was often quite irascible and scathing of fellow historians in this writings but at the same time sincere in his own, brutally factual, accounts. I like that he didnt allow his publicist to airbrush him into being cuddly or whistful. Hstory is always best served in a tweed jacket and with an air of authority.
